GOOD NEWS TORONTO TRAVELLERS!
It has just been announced that Canada's busiest airport, Toronto Pearson International (YYZ), will be offering customers on select flights a way to reserve their security screening spot in advance.
This is as the airport looks ahead to a busy winter travel season and hopes to alleviate the recently felt travel chaos from earlier this year. Travel Week reports that Deborah Flight, chief executive officer of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, which operates Pearson, says "Having a timeslot booked in advance should remove some of the stress that comes with airport travel" and "Passengers feel anxiety when they are travelling, and one of the first steps that causes that anxiety is how long the security line is going to be."
YYZ Express Program
Passengers can make a reservation up to 72 hours before their flight by adding their flight information and the number of people in their party (up to 10 people). The system will then display available time slots to choose from. Once a booking time is selected, a QR code is sent via email for travellers to present to airport staff at the security checkpoint. Passengers must arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation time.
The BEST NEWS?
This program is completely FREE to use and reservations and walk-up appointments are available daily for all domestic and international departing passengers at the Terminal 1 D Gates security screening point from 5 am - 1 pm and the Terminal 3 B and C Gates security screening points from 2 pm - 10 pm.

Are you from Calgary? Calgary International Airport, YYC, introduced a similar system called YYC Express earlier this year.
