Oceania Cruises announces order of two new Allura-Class Ships to arrive starting in 2022!

These two new ships will follow their widely successful O-Class ships that have been sailing for almost a decade now. These Allura-class ships will come in at 67,000 gross tonnes, will be built by Fincantieri shipyard and should be delivered in 2022 & 2025.

“This new class of ships will represent an evolution of the Oceania Cruises experience with all the elements our guests treasure – a warm, intimate, residential style; the most spacious standard staterooms afloat; amazing suites, and of course, the finest cuisine at sea,” said Bob Binder, the line’s President and CEO.

Each ship will accommodate 1200 guests and will built on the style and sophistication of the brand’s last class of ship, which featured the Marina & Riviera and their goal is to continue the tradition of having the best-guest experience & cuisine on the sea. Having the best cuisine means Oceania ships can quite easily accommodate for vegans.

This announcement comes just a few short months after the initial OceaniaNEXT initiative was started; the re-inspiration of the class that started it all, the Regatta-class. You can read more about this exciting endeavour here.

Frank Del Rio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., parent company to Oceania Cruises, said
“We are excited to expand the Oceania Cruises fleet with our new Allura-class ships to meet the strong demand for upscale culinary- and destination-focused cruise vacations around the globe.”

Not much more information is available at this time, apart from the fact these ships are estimated to come in at $845 million CAD each and that Fincantieri is going to be busy through 2027, as they have now 55 ships on back order to be built.
