Travel east by train to see traditional Javanese craftsmanship in action in Yogyakarta, where the Sultan’s Palace represents the capital of Javanese culture. Nearby is Borobudur – the world’s largest Buddhist monument. Experience Malang and the beautiful village surroundings of coffee and cocoa plantations. See the sunrise at Mount Bromo (optional). In Kalibaru, breathe in the smells and feast your eyes on the many colours of Indonesia at beautiful garden plantations. From then, it’s a ferry ride over to Bali and the next chapter in your Indonesia adventure.

Itinerary Details:

DAY 1 JAKARTA - BOGOR - BANDUNG
NOTE: Please note that this tour starts at 8:30 am. We strongly recommend booking a pre-night in Jakarta to be on time at the beginning of the tour.

Pick-up at the hotel and depart at 8:30 AM by air-conditioned coach, to Bogor. Here you will visit the city’s well-known Botanical Garden, Kebon Raya. This huge, serene and scenic park covers an area of around 80 hectares. Founded in 1817, Kebon Raya is a peaceful arboretum containing streams, fishponds, anda  lotus garden, along with many nurseries, open spaces, and a museum. Next, continue to Puncak Pass Mountain Resort (1,600 metres above sea level), passing through tea plantations on the road to Bandung. Lunch in local restaurant.

DAY 2 BANDUNG
Following breakfast at the hotel, take a scenic drive through the Lembang hills to the crater of Mount Tangkuban Perahu, an active volcano. Proceed to Ciater, where you can enjoy a short trek through the huge tea plantation and approach the tea factory to see the leaves being processed. After lunch, head back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Optional Excursions : Angklung performance (+ CA$ 55) - Departure from hotel 14:30
In the afternoon, visit Padasuka village to see a performance of melodious Angklung music played on traditional bamboo instruments by children from the surrounding villages.

DAY 3 BANDUNG - YOGYAKARTA
Following an early breakfast at your hotel, take a train from Bandung to Yogyakarta. A lunch box will be provided on board. You will be picked up from the station and transferred directly to your hotel, where the afternoon is spent at leisure. You may want to explore some of the local neighborhood independently, for example, Malioboro Street is a very popular place for locals and tourists alike, with many shops, cafes, performances and attractions.

DAY 4 YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR - BOROBUDUR
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then embark on a city tour. You will visit the Kraton and Taman Sari, then witness local handicrafts in action, with craftsmen working on both batik and silver. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, take a trip to explore Borobudur Temple; one of the greatest of all ancient architectural monuments. Built in the 9th century, Borobudur predates Angkor Wat in Cambodia by three centuries. It has recently been fully restored by an International effort under the aegis of UNESCO. Next, return to Yogyakarta for your accommodation.

DAY 5
YOGYAKARTA - PRAMBANAN - SOLO
After breakfast, leave the hotel to drive some 16 km to Prambanan and visit the Hindu Temple Complex of Rara Jongrang, built by King Smaratungga of the Sanjaya Dynasty in the middle of the 9th century. In the Shiva and Brahma temple a detailed relief of Ramayana is depicted. A relief of Krisnayana can be admired in Wisnu Temple. visit the magnificent 9th-century Hindu Temple of Prambanan, then drive to the town of Solo to explore the Palace of Mangkunegaran. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant.

DAY 6 SOLO - MALANG
After breakfast visit Pasar Gede - a bustling local market where you can see people bargaining to get their daily items. Continue driving to Mantingan forest and stop to see the bird market. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Proceed to Malang via a winding road at Pujon. Late evening arrival at Malang.

DAY 7 MALANG - KALIBARU
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Malang. The city is known as an old colonial retirement town with some colonial buildings, refreshingly green parks and streets. Depart to Kalibaru via the cities of Probolinggo and Jatiroto. Lunch is served in Jember. Following afternoon arrival at Kalibaru, experience living in the atmosphere of a village surrounded by coffee and cocoa plantations.

Optional Excursions : Excursion to Bromo (+ $CA 245) – Dep. 01:00 AM
Wake in the early morning for an excursion by minibus to Ngadisari village via Sukapura - Probolinggo, and then continue to Pananjakan by jeep. After witnessing the spectacular scenery of a sunrise, drive down to the old caldera to reach the peak of Bromo volcano by foot or or by riding a horse (own expense). Breakfast will be at a local restaurant.

DAY 8 KALIBARU - BALI
Breakfast at the hotel. Escorted by an experienced tour guide, view some picturesque plantations and gardens adjacent to Margo Utomo Agro Resort. Vanilla, coffee, coconut, snake-fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, rubber trees, and cocoa are the variety of crops you will encounter on the trip. Next, depart to Ketapang harbour and cross the Straits of Bali by ferry. Lunch will be provided en route, then your last lap takes you along the beautiful west coast of Bali island in the direction of Denpasar.
Private transfer from our operator office to the airport of to your hotel if you are extending in Bali.
